Inspect the machine first
Check the card slot
If the slot looks raised, added on, or loose, do not use the machine — tell the branch.
Look around the keypad
Watch for a small camera or a second pad fitted over the original one.
Prefer well-lit machines
Use ATMs inside branches, or in well-lit and secure locations.
Steps that protect your PIN
Cover the keypad with your hand
Shield the keypad while entering your PIN even when nobody is nearby — a hidden camera is not something you can see.
Do not accept help from strangers
Never let anyone help you complete a transaction, however friendly they seem, and never hand your card to anyone. If you need help, ask a member of branch staff.
Stay with the machine
Do not walk away before the transaction ends and you have your card, your cash and your receipt — and do not count the money in front of the machine.
If the machine keeps your card
Do not leave straight away: call the call centre from where you are to block the card, and notify the branch the machine belongs to.
Rules worth keeping
Never write it on the card
And never keep it in your phone or wallet next to the card.
Never share it
Not with a family member, and not with anyone claiming to be from the bank.
Avoid predictable numbers
No birth dates, and no sequential or repeated digits.
Change it regularly
You can change your PIN at any CHAM Bank ATM.

No CHAM Bank employee will ever ask for your PIN, your password or a verification code — not by phone, not by text message, not by e-mail. Any such request is an attempted fraud: end the call and report it to the call centre immediately.
