Cham Bank Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with Jordanian Credit Card Services Company CCS for Issuing and Accepting International Cards
As part of its strategy focused on digital transformation and enhancing electronic payment services, in line with the directions of the Central Bank of Syria, particularly Decision No. 259/L.E., which allows Syrian banks to work with global payment companies such as Visa, Mastercard, and others, either directly or through local or international sponsoring entities, for the purpose of issuing or accepting bank cards through licensed payment channels, Cham Bank, represented by its CEO Ahmad Al-Laham, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Jordanian Credit Card Services Company CCS, represented by Mr. Basem Al-Dweik.
This MoU represents a first step toward signing a comprehensive agreement with the company, in accordance with the controls and standards set by Decision No. 259/L.E. It will enable Cham Bank to issue bank cards carrying the logos of global payment companies such as Visa and Mastercard in their various forms, contributing to advanced banking solutions that meet customers’ needs.
This cooperation will allow the Bank’s customers to use their cards inside and outside Syria, including paying for purchases through e-commerce and online shopping websites, enhancing the user experience and elevating the level of digital services provided.
In this context, Cham Bank CEO Ahmad Al-Laham stated:

The Bank confirmed that all necessary official approvals, foremost the approval of the Central Bank of Syria, will be completed in preparation for the start of effective cooperation and the provision of advanced digital banking products that meet the needs of the Syrian market in accordance with international best practices.
