Data protection

Information Privacy

CHAM Bank's commitment to customer confidentiality: what we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
Our commitment

Banking confidentiality

CHAM Bank is committed to keeping customer information, accounts and transactions confidential, in line with banking-secrecy provisions, the instructions of the Central Bank of Syria, and the principles of Islamic Sharia. No data is disclosed to any third party without the customer's written consent, or unless required by a court order or an official request from a legally authorised authority.

This policy covers every piece of information that reaches us through our branches, this website, the mobile app, internet banking and the call centre.

What we collect

The information we ask for, and why

Identification data

Name, ID and contact details — required to open an account and to meet Know-Your-Customer obligations.

Account and transaction data

Your balances and banking activity — used to carry out the operations you request and to issue your statements.

Technical usage data

Device type and sign-in logs — used to protect your account and detect unauthorised access attempts.

Safeguards

How we protect your information

Encrypted connections

Your data travels over encrypted channels on the website and in the app.

Least privilege

Only the staff member who needs your data to do their job can reach it.

Strong authentication

Passwords and one-time verification codes for sensitive operations.

Continuous monitoring

Control systems watch for unusual activity around the clock.

Your part

What we ask of you

Never share your sign-in details

CHAM Bank will never ask for your password, PIN or verification code in a phone call, text message or e-mail. Any such request is an attempted fraud — report it to the call centre immediately.

Check the address before entering your details

Reach our electronic services only through the bank's official website or official app, and never through a link in an untrusted message.

Keep your contact details current

Your phone number and e-mail are how we alert you to activity on your account. Tell your branch whenever either changes.

Report anything suspicious at once

If your card is lost, or a transaction looks unauthorised, call the call centre straight away to block the card.
