Tariffs & Commissions Schedule

• Cheques — cheque books in Syrian pounds and foreign currency by leaf count; issuing and certifying a bank cheque; cancelling an issue; returning or stopping a cheque; replacing a lost cheque; enquiring about returned cheques.
• Returned cheques — insufficient-funds rejection, first and subsequent occurrences, and cheques rejected on technical grounds.
• Accounts — opening a current, savings or term investment account (subject to minimum opening balances); opening a customer information file; closing an account in Syrian pounds or foreign currency, with a higher charge before six months; reactivating and reopening a dormant account.
• Remittances and foreign currency — transfer, crediting and cover commissions.
• Cards and electronic services — card issue, renewal and replacement; card account administration; the annual subscription to the electronic services bundle (mobile banking, SMS and internet banking).
• Safe-deposit boxes — rent, security deposit, and the charge for visits beyond the monthly allowance.

• Prices are stated in Syrian pounds or US dollars according to the account or service, and the schedule carries a notes column for each line.
• Some services are free under the schedule, such as opening a customer information file for individuals and corporates.
• Commissions attaching to a loan or a guarantee are limited to actual costs, in line with the Sharia Board's rulings.
• Customers are informed of any commission before it is charged, and changes are announced in the banking halls.
